Splashes and Splotches;

The flower has fallen, but a colourful calyx remains displaying bright red splashes.

Begonias are a delight in the shady garden, in these two species displaying dominantly silver and pink splashes and blotches.

Bromeliad, Nidularium, splashes rouge on its leaves when ready to flower.

This is an oddball with its many splotches forming sort of a pattern.

Colloquially called Tigerlilly has splashed and splotched a delicate pattern on its petals.

The always popular Hibiscus, this one is from Cuba, shows off yellow with deep red splashes.

Bromeliad, Neoregelia limegreen splotches and a splash of pink on each leaf.

Truly beautiful, varigation with splashes and splotches.
Perhaps now you had your fill with splashes and splotches....

..... and all I can say, thank you for visiting and have a nice day.

Another beautiful series of photos, Titania! What wonderful plants you have in your garden. What beautiful leaves they have; huge leaves with various and beautiful patterns. I so much like those Begoinia pink splashes leaves. They look so interesting and so beautiful. And your Tigerlilly flowers are lovely too…and yours Hibiscus; it is gorgeous….and Bromeliads...
Have a nice day to you too and thanks for sharing these beautiful photos!

Titania, these are beautiful splotches. My favorite is the oddball.

Since you grow so many wonderful bromeliads, I wanted to ask you a question. I have a fairly large Tillandsia. It flowered and produced seed. Yesterday, I noticed that many tiny Tillandsia germinated in situ on the flossy filaments that bind the seed together. Have you ever noticed this phenomenon (germination on the mother plant) with any of your plants?

I've seen some of your plants grown indoors, but they'd never survive our cold winters. Beautiful shots from your garden!

Beautiful splashes and splotches. I love the simplicity of the hibiscus, that one is surely a mestizo.

Hi titania! The Bromeliad leaves that have emerald-green color is outstanding!

Wow, those enormous begonia leaves are quite impressive! The ones we have here are just tiny compared to these.

Happy Thursday~

Really beautiful! it is so interesting to see plants in other countries blooming at the same time, but different climates. About my hostas - there are so many varieties and I love them. The leaves of some of them look like they are being painted. One of my favorites is called Striptease. Have a nice weekend, Andrea

Guten Tag Titania

Elfe

What a great post - it's so easy to concentrate on flowers, but foliage is absolutely beautiful, too.

Diane, yes, all the patterns are amazing.

Thank you Meda for stepping into my garden and admiring words.

Prospero, No I have not. I have answered your question on your blog.

Thank you Danielle, you are welcome.

Thanks Gail!
Thanks Janie!

Pacey, I do not know but it is surely a beautiful, reliable plant.

Thanks Tatyana!
Thanks Pia!
Thanks Sweet Bay!

Andrea, it is very exciting to try and enjoy new plants. Those Hostas look absolutely beautiful.

Hallo liebe Elfe.

Thank you Laura, good on you!

Sunita, yes you are right it was a Costus. Many plants have the trend to display brilliant calyxes after flowering.

Happy Mouffetard, Well, I guess our eyes are always firstly drawn to the flowers. But I love all sorts of leafy things.

Donna, thank you for your visit. Your garden is a treat to visit.

Titania, I will try to photograph my baby tillandsia. The problem is that they are so tiny and that I don't have a macro lens. Right now, I have some in a dish with a bit of water. I'll try some vermiculite as a base and try to pot up the tiny plants.
