Green is Good...

In my Garden;

Green reflected in the pond;

Salvia, means healing, green nourishment;

Pretty Ponytail; Beaucarnea recurvata;

Turmeric is a very attractive looking plant; in summer it shows off beautiful white flowers.

Winter is Camellia time.

A native fern grows very tall and fast like a weed is beautiful;

Restful greenery;

Miz Bella, the resident carpet snake tries to catch a bit of the morning sun in the Bromeliads.. At this time of year she is very lethargic, it is getting to cold for her.
Believe it or not:
A word of kindness is better than a rich pie. (Old Russian proverb.)

Stunning photographs! I can't believe how beautiful it is there! How do you take care of it all? I take it carpet snakes aren't all that dangerous...

Green, my favorite color of course! Beautiful, soothing pictures.

Love your snake! I have only seen a snake one time in our backyard at dusk, and though we were were both rather taken aback, I was comforted to know that he/ she felt comfortable enough to be here, however briefly.

Danielle thank you for your visit.
I have big secateurs! Carpet snakes are not poisonous, but you have to respect them like any wild animal, as they can bite.

Mo, thank you for your comment. Bella lives since many years in the garden, lots of places to hide. I have seen her growing from a small snake to the size she is now, she is still growing.

Everything is much greener this winter thanks to all the rain. Its lovely isn't it? Your garden looks beautiful. I would love to be working in mine as the weather is great for gardening and the soil is moist but my tummy is still a bit fragile after the op. I am so impatient I want to be fit and strong again NOW.

Hi Titania, Yes, I agree, green is good and soothing and there are so many shades of green, you hardly need any other colour. The white camellias are equally peaceful and soothing. It is so soothing, even the snake is peacefully agreeing to be decorative!

Lovely pictures! Your garden has such a wonderful tropical look. I like the shot of the snake too.

What a beautiful garden you have! I like to see your Ponytail amid the other plants. I have a small Beaucarnea recurvata and a Beaucarnia stricta. I started them from seed so they are a little slow. That native fern is lovely. Miz Bella also seems to enjoy your little bit of Eden (wasn't it a snake that spoke to Eve?)

You let that snake live in your garden? Heck no!! So, you are saying it is getting close to winter where you live? YOur photos are gorgeous!!

Elfe

Your garden is lovely, as always. The reflection shot is great. I like your photo of the carpet snake. It's so interesting that Bella has been in your garden since she was small. It's fun to watch any creature grow, and kind of unique to have a resident snake in the garden!

Titania, I always enjoy looking at the photos of your garden full of various plants and flowers. You even have a little pond in it. I can only dream about such beautiful garden around my home. But, when I came to the last photo I was taken aback!!! :-)) I couldn’t believe my eye that I saw a snake in your garden; in your own garden. :-o Last Sunday when I was in the wood with my husband I saw a slow-worm that only looks like snake but I was excited as if it had been some poisoned snake. I managed to take its photo, anyway. :-)

Good Morning from foggy humid Tennessee! Love your blog..your picture and your comments. I must confess that finding a carpet boa in my garden amongst the flowers would send me flying back to the house. I am glad you are on good terms with the boa! Visited Oz several years ago..such an interesting and beautiful country. Enjoyed my visit here today and I will return to read more.

Is that lethargic non slithering "thing" your family pet? Is she more active in summer. Do you have to feed her?

Did you watch the Aussie SPCA show where a man kept his snake and the wife rang the spca?

When I was young, I was very brave and not scared of snakes.

Now, I am a scary cat. Luckily, there are NO snakes in New Zealand.

Green is good.

Hi Ann, no, Miz Bella is not a pet, she happens to live in our garden since many years. I guess because she has good hiding spots and is left to her own devices. From time to time she shows herself. She might also visit the neighbours gardens, but luckily they are oblivious to that. I do not like to have a poisonous snakes in the garden, but I guess I am oblivious of that, they come and go.

You are like my Sri Lankan friends in Singapore. They had a thin green grass snake among their plants in their balcony. They just co existed. The snake has a bright green jade colour. But you can't get me to sit there and have a cup of tea.

We lived in the University which was a jungle before, and we had many slithering visitors.Most unfortunately visit the wrong places and get an encounter with the pest control.

Yes, green is a good color in the garden. I like the role snakes play, too. If we didn't have them, we would end up with all kinds of other critters to contend with.
