Climbing rose Tzigane is in every aspect a very much wanted rose.
Its sweet fragrance redolent of warmth, sunny, happy days and sweet memories.
Even the buds are deeply scented. The colour, coral and gold, changes with the seasons.
In spring the colours are much stronger.
This rose is at every stage attractive. The faded flowers, gracefully let the petals fall.
This rose grows well from Zone 6

Four fabulous pictures of the stages of the rose. It has the most wonderful colours. I can't grow roses or vegetables, so I stick to natives mostly.

I have never been a successful rose grower. I've tried twice, but our winters are so extreme that I've never gotten one to overwinter, though I have friends that have roses here. But THAT rose in your post is so amazingly beautiful that I would be tempted to try again.

Diese Zigeunerin hat wirklich den Namen mit Recht verdient. Sie hat von der Blüte her, tatsächlich etwas wildes, ungeordnetes. Wächst sie bei dir in einem Topf? Oder habe ich das falsch gesehen. Stell dir vor, der erste blühende Rosenknopf ist schon vorbei. So früh, habe ich noch nie den unverkennbaren, süssen Rosenduft schnuppern können (zwar allerdings nur kurz, da Regen und Kälteeinbruch dem Blühen ein Ende machten!). Aber wir gehen ja dem Rosenmonat entgegen :-) !!

Very pretty. I've never heard of it although it looks a lot like Royal Sunset climbing rose.
I love the colors of this rose, it matches the color of the sunrise in your photo. It must be quite beautiful on your Gold Coast. Quite different from what we call the Gold Coast here in Chicago. Happy gardening!
Thank you for posting these pictures at different stages of the growth of now somewhat rare rose. For those of us interested in the kinder gentler colour blends of the 1950s and 1960s, this is really helpful.
