Hybrid Tea Rose 1972 "Just Joey";
Very fragrant
Blooms repeatedly
Cuttings, softwood, semi hardwood and hardwood ;
responds well to pruning, flowers on new growth;
Very disease resistant;
Well worth having in the garden. One of my favourites.
She Gave Me A Rose; By Paul Laurence Dunbar
She gave a rose,
And I kissed it and pressed it.
I love her, she knows,
And my action confessed it.
She gave me a rose,
And I kissed it and pressed it.
Ah, how my heart glows,
Could I ever have guessed it?
It is fair to suppose
That I might have repressed it:
She gave me a rose,
And I kissed it and pressed it.
'T was a rhyme in life's prose
That uplifted and blest it.
Man's nature, who knows
Until love comes to test it?
She gave me a rose,
And I kissed it and pressed it.
Tomorrow I am on my way to New Zealand. I will be back in a week's time. Have a great week.

The rose look so huge. Wish I got one like that.
Gorgeous Rose! Beautiful color and fragrant, just what I love the rose about! Have a great trip to NZ. When you got chance later, do you mind hopping over to my blog to check out my two most recent posts to help me identify two mystery tea roses in case you have seen the same kind before? They were misplaced in the package, so now I don't have names for them... THANKS in advance!
Your 'Just Joey' is a beautiful rose indeed! Even better for disease resistance. Have fun in New Zealand! I've always wanted to travel there.
Oh so sweet Titania! Love this big one and the colour very much. As you already know from my post, rose is just not for me to grow for now. I need more experience. I hope I could an expert like you and James in dealing with them.
Have a funfilled trip to New Zealand! I hope the weather there is not too chilly for you. Take care yeah.
Gorgeous roses, poetry too. And I like Paul Laurence Dunbar greatly.
"The moon and the stars were anxious
To know what its fate might be;
So they rushed to the azure op'ning,
And all peered down to see."
Nice trip.
p.s. I apologize for translation
She's a looker! Love the color. Looks like apricot sorbet!
Hallo Titania,
Deine Rose ist wunderschön.
Ich mußte leider 3 Rosen ausbudddeln, der Winter war zu hart.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to discover your blog on Blotanical. There are so many blogs and never enough time. I love reading about gardens in your region, as your plants do so well in my area.
Look forward to hearing about your trip to New Zealand, All best, Alice

I see why its one of your favorites-it is so beautiful and romantic.
It is so full of petals and invigorating colour. Have a nice trip. Do you think I could grow them in Brisbane? I've never tried to grow roses.
Very pretty rose, Trudi. So soft and bountiful! New Zealand sounds like a good idea... have fun.

this is one of my favourite roses, not just because my grandson is called Joey.
